Walking With Lulu — Exploring Our World Through Theatre

This season’s show for young audiences isLulu and the Long Walk, a story that follows ayoung girl in Africa on her day-long walk for water. Participants will explore the world through Lulu’s lens, building stories, games, crafts and research! Our friends will explore places and themes both close to home and far, far away! A Rapunzel with a punk-pixie cut? Cool! Prince & The Pauper in outer space? Sounds awesome! This is a dreamy class for aspiring playwrights, actors, directors, and theatre makers! Participants are given a theme at the top of the week and the opportunity to re-write, re-tell, and perform their own take on a treasured tale. Themes change each week so make sure to join the fun more than once!

HSRT Apprentice Program

This two-part pre-professional series is a perfect opportunity for high school students to gain experience in theatre making and performing.

As HSRT’s laudedStreet Performers, participants will weave together a tapestry of scenes and songs that showcase the plays of our 50th season, performing them alongside Holland’s finest artists downtown as well as opening night of all HSRT performances.

InFairytale Remix, participants will create and present a production of a well-known, classic fairy tale, with a twist! The final production will incorporate elements of costumes, props, and scenery created by our younger theatre artists! It is a truly collaborative endeavor that will grow their skills as performers, writers, and storytellers!
