• Three years at Northern Illinois University (NIU), studying secretarial administration

Professional Experience

Janet was the secretary for the nursing and political science departments and the presidential search committee at NIU. When she moved to Holland, she was the secretary for the engineering department at Thermotron Industries before becoming the secretary to the company’s president and, later, human resources.

Why I Love Hope

Janet enjoys her job, the Christian environment of Hope College and the people she has worked with over the years.

Outside the College

Janet volunteers at her church and the Community Kitchen. She is also involved with prison spiritual direction ministry.
