The Hope College women's tennis team picked up two wins on their double-match day with victories against Salisbury University, 8-1, and St. Catherines University, 5-4.
Freshman Sullivan Patel (Birmingham, Michigan / Wylie E. Groves HS) and seniorSydney Jackson(Fort Wayne, Indiana / Carroll) picked up the win at No. 1 doubles with an 8-2 win. No. 2 doubles partners juniorTaylor Truman(Fort Wayne, Indiana / Carroll) andSaydee Johns(Holland, Michigan / Holland) snagged an 8-2 win, whileDelanie Riebschleger(Rockford, Michigan / Rockford), pictured right, andAnnika Weeber(Rockford, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian) earned the win at No. 3 doubles, 8-4.
Jackson at No. 1 singles earned a second point for Hope with 6-4 and 6-2 wins. No. 2 singles had a win from Patel, 6-0 and 6-0.
Weeber, at No. 3 singles, picked up her second point with 6-2 and 7-5 wins for the Flying Dutch. FreshmanAlexi Lewis(Cedar, Michigan / Saint Francis) brought home a win in the No. 5 singles spot, 6-1 and 6-0.
The No. 6 competitor, Riebschleger, tallied the eighth win of the day with 6-0 and 6-0 sets.
A well-earned 5-4 win for Hope College against St. Catherine had wins from No. 2 and No. 3 doubles with Johns and Truman grabbing an 8-2 win, and Lewis and freshmanMiyako Coffey(Cedar Rapids, Iowa / Xavier) earning an 8-2 win as well.
