The Hope College women's tennis team won its home opener, 6-3, against NCAA Division II opponent Davenport University on Friday at DeWitt Tennis Center.
The Flying Dutch improved their record to 2-0 overall with victories in four singles flights and two doubles flights.

At No. 1 singles, seniorSydney Jackson(Fort Wayne, Indiana / Carroll HS) defeated Isabelle Carofano, 6-3, 6-4.
At No. 2 singles, freshman Sullivan Patel (Birminghm, Michigan / Groves) downed Louise Hosking, 6-3, 6-0.
At No. 5 singles, freshmanAlexi Lewis(Cedar, Michigan / Traverse City St. Francis) topped Charlotte Shuwankini, 6-3, 6-2
At No. 6 singles, freshmanMiyako Coffey(Cedar Rapids, Iowa / Xavier) beat Sophie Jackson, 6-3, 6-3.
In doubles, Jackson and Patel teamed at the No. 1 flight for an 8-7 (7-1) victory against Vlada Shumidova and Hosking.
二年级学生Annika Weeber(密歇根州罗克福德/Grand Rapids Christian) and juniorDelanie Riebschlegerpartnered at No. 3 doubles for an 8-1 victory against Shuwankini and Kailyn Skogmo.
Hope's next match is Friday, Feb. 18, at 4 p.m. at home against Cornerstone University.
